Lollipop Mom Rules !“Lucky Lolli” sez: As an “old- timer” Survivor now, some perspectives I can now embrace more fully include: … feeling different about just how important my personal comfort is, really, -- yeah, its nice, but it ain't "all that" like it once was... There's bigger things now to me, like being there for others and giving the best I can to the world and my HP-- That which to me should have always been the biggest thing still takes the working on, to get there & to want it enough to sacrifice self-- to become more the truly self- transcendent, HP connected person I want to be.... I can take comfort in knowing that I am healing and that I can continue learn ways of coping that help me move on to a healthier more honest perspective. I can hold this thought even when I can’t quite believe it—I can “act as if” and that give me strength to go on another day. Others see me better than I do, and if they tell me I am progressing, I can know that there will be a day when I will see it too. These are attitudes I find helpful. The attitudes of others and what they need to do is something I can't judge for anyone else. Welcome, courageous Survivors & Thrivers in this new Millenium On one level, isn't all experience relative? For example, one born to privilege, wrapped in nothing but the finest silk might find even the coarseness of cotton against the skin intolerable. It’s written that kids should be accustomed to hardship so that they will rise to challenges and choose the better path, even if it is a harder one. Stuff that’s hard for others can sometimes come easier for me in some ways-- but in some ways harder too.
